China and New Zealand Sign A Series of Cooperative Agreements and Documents

On April 6, 2006, the governments of China and New Zealand signed a series of cooperative agreements and documents in New Zealand. Visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and his New Zealand counterpart Helen Clark attended the sign ceremony. The agreements and documents include China-New Zealand Treaty on Criminal and Judicial Assistance, the Agreement between the Governments of China and New Zealand on Culture, the Protocol on the Sanitation Requirements for the Export of New Zealand's Edible Deer Products to China and the Memorandum of Understanding between China and New Zealand on the Cooperation in Education and Training. The two sides also announced that New Zealand Airlines would open direct flight between Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand and Shanghai, that New Zealand would take part in the 2010 Shanghai International Expo and that the two countries would enhance cooperation in cracking down transitional crimes.
