On November 30, 2006, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei and Mexican Ambassador to China Sergio Ley Lopez exchanged in Beijing the instrument of ratification for the Treaty between the People's Republic of China and the United Mexican States on Criminal Judicial Assistance signed in the City of Mexico on January 24, 2005, and signed the certificate for the exchange of the instrument of ratification. According to its Article 24, the Treaty shall come into effect from December 30, 2006, the 30th day following the exchange of the instrument of ratification.
