On behalf of all my colleagues at the Foreign Ministry, I send sincere gratitude and New Year's greeting to our friends at home and abroad who have extended care and support to China's diplomatic undertaking.

The year 2006 witnessed the vigorous development and fruitful diplomatic work of China. We made friends extensively, kept consolidating and extending the friendly cooperation with all the other countries in the world, advocated the multilateralism, played a constructive role in the international and regional affairs, held high the banner of peace, development and cooperation, made efforts to create a favorable international and neighboring environment, practiced the "people-oriented diplomacy" to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and legal person abroad and maintained the national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

In the year 2007 we will insist to the road of peaceful development and the open strategy of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, carry out multi-faceted foreign contacts and make new contributions to the China's prosperity, people's welfare and the building of a harmonious world with lasting peace and common development.
