Tang Jiaxuan Meets with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister

On March 25, 2007, Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with visiting Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem at Beijing Hotel. Tang said China-Vietnam ties have made new progress continuously thanks to the joint efforts of both sides. The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government attach great importance to bilateral ties, he said. China would like to work with Vietnam to earnestly implement a range of important consensus reached by the two General-Secretaries during their exchange of visits last year and to enhance bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, culture and society, so as to push bilateral ties to a new high, Tang said. Pham said the leaders of the two countries have charted a direction for the development of bilateral relations. Vietnam is ready to make concerted efforts with China to expand and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields and push forward good-neighborly friendly cooperation, he said. Vice Minister of Commerce Liao Xiaoqi and Assistant Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai attended the meeting.
