China and Japan held the 8th Round of East China Sea Talks in Beijing on May 25th. Hu Zhengyue, the Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and Kenichiro Sasae, Chief of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Japanese Foreign Ministry headed their delegations respectively for the talks.

Both parties expounded on their respective views and held in-depth formal consultation and informal discussions. The Talks are helpful. Both agree to hold the next round of the Talks in the second half of June.
