On July 2, 2007, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei and visiting Peruvian Deputy Foreign Minister Gonzalo Gutierrez held the 8th political consultation between the two Foreign Ministries. Both sides agreed that currently the development of bilateral ties enjoys a sound momentum, pledging to make joint efforts to further enhance political trust, expand trade cooperation, promote humanistic exchanges and strengthen multilateral cooperation, so as to push for in-depth development of China-Peru comprehensive cooperative partnership.

Gutierrez said Peru attaches importance to developing ties with China and will continue to adhere to the one-China policy, which He Yafei appreciated.
