In his speech delivered at the meeting, Zhai expounded China's principled position on Iraq, stressing that the reconciliation of Iraq relies on joint efforts of all Iraqi factions and the constructive role of the international community as well. All sides should earnestly respect and safeguard the authority of the UN and create conditions for the UN to play its role on the issue.
