On November 7, 2007, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui met with Director General for Security Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, who is in China for counter-terrorism consultations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Zhang made positive comments on bilateral friendly cooperation and appreciated Turkey's adherence to the one-China policy and its support of China's efforts to safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said China is ready to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Turkey on counter-terrorism and other areas to push for bilateral ties.

The Turkish side thanked Zhang for meeting with him, stressing that Turkey attaches great importance to developing ties with China. He also reaffirmed Turkey's adherence to the one-China policy, adding that Turkey is ready to make joint efforts with China and push forward cooperation with China in anti-terrorism and other fields.
