On January 28, 2008, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi chaired the second session of the preparatory committee of the seventh summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). The session reviewed the developments of the preparatory work of relevant agencies since the first session of the summit preparatory committee in last July and made arrangements for the next phase of the preparatory work.
