More International Support for China's Handling of Lhasa Riots

When meeting with officials from the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, Long Visalo, secretary of state of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, said the Lhasa incident was masterminded and organized by a handful of people with ulterior motives and was by no means "peaceful demonstrations" as claimed by them, but serious and violent crimes. The Cambodian government and people firmly support all the lawful measures and efforts by the Chinese government and people to maintain stability and restore social order.

A spokesman of the Lao Foreign Ministry in a statement condemned the violent incident and voiced support for all the necessary measures taken by the Chinese government to stabilize the situation and safeguard social stability in Tibet.

A spokesman of the Singaporean Foreign Ministry expressed the country's support for the Chinese government's efforts in protecting people's life and property and opposition to politicizing the Olympics.

In a statement, the Philippine government voiced support for the Chinese government's efforts to maintain peace and stability in Tibet and expressed opposition to the politicization of the Beijing Olympics.

Sri Lanka's Foreign Ministry issued a statement, reaffirming adherence to the one-China policy, support of China's territorial integrity and opposition to politicizing the Beijing Olympic Games.

The Afghan Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Afghanistan supports China's sovereignty and territorial integrity and backs China's lawful efforts to safeguard state sovereignty.

The Uzbek Foreign Ministry issued a statement, emphasizing that Uzbekistan resolutely adheres to the one-China policy and maintains that Tibet is an inalienable part of Chinese territory and the Tibet question is China's internal affair. The statement expressed support for China's efforts to restore law and order and maintain stability in Tibet.

The Foreign Ministry of Djibouti issued a statement, saying that the violent actions by the Dalai clique and the separatist forces seeking "Tibet independence" constitute a provocation to the international community. The Tibet question is China's internal affair and the Djibouti's government supports all necessary measures taken by the Chinese government in an effort to safeguard territorial integrity and resolve the Tibet question.

When meeting with the Chinese ambassador, Foreign Minister of Cape Verde VĂ­ctor Manuel Barbosa Borges said his government always adheres to the one-China policy and supports China's handling of the serious violent crimes according to law. He added that Cape Verde is staunchly opposed to politicizing the Olympics and wishes the event a great success.

The Brazilian Foreign Ministry issued a statement, reaffirming the country's consistent support of China's territorial integrity.
