On April 22, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Hongbo met with John Micklethwait, Editor-in-Chief of The Economist. Wu elaborated the Chinese government's principled position on such issues as Tibet, the Beijing Olympic Games, China-U.S., China-Japan and China-DPRK relations, the six-party talks, the Iranian nuclear issue, Myanmar, Sudan's Darfur and climate change.
