Wen Jiabao Meets with Polish, Singaporean Deputy Prime Ministers Respectively

On September 5, 2008, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai with Polish Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak, who came here to attend the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games. Wen said the Paralympics was a stage for the disabled and would draw more people's attention to the cause of the disabled, vowing that China would do its utmost to make the Paralympics as exciting as the Olympics. Wen highlighted the recent exchanges between both sides at various levels, saying that the two countries have expanded their mutually beneficial cooperation and conducted sound coordination in international affairs. China appreciated Poland's adherence to the one-China policy, he added. China would seize the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of the China-Poland diplomatic relations and work with the Polish side to push bilateral ties for new progress, Wen told Pawlak. Pawlak expressed his congratulations on the success of the Beijing Olympics, noting that the upcoming Paralympics would have a far-reaching influence on the cause of the disabled. He also wished the Paralympics a complete success. Pawlak said the Polish government valued its ties with China and the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation was of great significance to Poland. Poland was willing to boost bilateral cooperation in such fields as mutual investment, infrastructure construction, energy, environmental protection and tourism, Pawlak said. Minister of Commerce Chen Deming and other officials attended the meeting.
On the same day, Wen also met with Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng, who was here for a bilateral meeting on China-Singapore cooperation.
