Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with Delegation from Tanzanian Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security

On September 23, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met with a delegation from the Tanzanian Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security headed by Chairman of the Committee Wilson Masilingi. Zhai welcomed the delegation to China and made positive comments on China-Tanzania relations. He thanked for Tanzania’s persistent support on key issues concerning China’s core interests including those related to Taiwan and Tibet and Beijing Olympics, expressing China’s willingness to work with Tanzania to push for the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries. Zhai also briefed on China’s domestic situation, China-Africa relations and Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Masilingi spoke highly of China-Tanzania friendly ties and thanked for China’s long-standing support and assistance on economy, culture, education and health, pledging that Tanzania will continue to adhere to the one-China policy.
