On September 23, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Hongbo met with the head of the General Department of Foreign Policy for Asia and the Pacific of the Spanish Foreign Ministry, who is here for a China-Spain seminar on gender equality. Wu made positive comments on the current China-Spain relations and appreciated Spain’s support of the Beijing Olympics, expressing hope that the two Foreign Ministries will continue to maintain sound cooperation and push China-Spain, China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level. Spain attaches great importance to developing ties with China and is ready to push forward cooperation in all areas and contribute more to the development of EU-China ties, said the Spanish side.
