2009/04/23

On April 22, 2009, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Hui met in the Foreign Ministry with a delegation headed by Jenő Faller, State Secretary of Hungary's Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, Li made positive comments on the current China-Hungary relations, expressing gratitude for Hungary's consistent support to China on the issues relating to Taiwan and Tibet. Li hoped that both sides will take the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and further deepen pragmatic cooperation in all areas, in a bid to push bilateral ties to a new level.

Faller said Hungary attaches great importance to developing ties with China and deems China its important strategic partner in Asia. Hungary will continue to adhere to the one-China policy and dedicate itself to expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with China.

Both sides also exchanged views on such issues as the situations in Russia, Transcaucasia, Central Asia and Western Balkans, as well as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
