During the meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Yang said that China is ready to work with the United States to continue earnestly implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state. China and the United States need to maintain high-level contact by proceeding from a strategic and long-term perspective and deepen exchanges and cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, counter-terrorism, anti-proliferation, law enforcement, energy, environment and humanities, said Yang. He said the two countries should also keep close communication and collaboration on international and regional hotspot issues and such global issues as climate change and properly handle differences and sensitive issues, in order to push forward the positive, cooperative and comprehensive China-U.S. relationship in the 21st century.

Clinton said that recently, the U.S.-China relations have enjoyed sound development and bilateral exchanges and cooperation have been fruitful. The U.S. hoped to closely cooperate with China in well planning and implementing their high-level exchanges in the second half of the year and in dealing with challenges and threats such as the global financial crisis and international terrorism, so as to maintain peace and stability of the region and the world at large.

During the meeting, the two sides also mentioned the upcoming first China-U.S. strategic and economic dialogue to be held in the United States. Both sides agreed to make joint efforts for positive outcome at the dialogue.

During the meeting with Lavrov, both sides made positive comments on the strong momentum of the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership this year. They noted that during President Hu Jintao's successful visit to Russia, the leaders of the two countries summarized the 60 years of China-Russia relations and made significant planning and deployment on the future development of bilateral ties. Both sides should comprehensively implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, well conduct the bilateral high-level exchanges in the second half of the year and seriously implement the agreements already reached. Both sides also agreed to further advance pragmatic cooperation in all areas and continue deepening strategic coordination in international affairs in a bid to push bilateral ties to one new level after another.

During the meeting with Yu Myung-hwan, Yang said the relations between China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have been good, which can be seen in their frequent exchanges at all levels, smooth exchange and cooperation on economy, trade and humanities and sound communication in regional and international affairs. Under the current situation, both sides should further enhance mutual understanding, deepen cooperation in all areas and push forward bilateral strategic cooperative partnership.

Yu Myung-hwan made positive comments on bilateral ties, saying that the exchanges and cooperation in all areas have been expanding continuously. The ROK is ready to work with China to strengthen high-level contacts, expand trade cooperation, properly handle relevant issues and enhance communication and coordination in regional affairs to maintain peace and stability of Northeast Asia.

During the meeting with Qureshi, Yang said China and Pakistan share all-weather friendship and all-round cooperation and are good neighbors, good friends, good partners and good brothers. The friendly exchanges between the two countries are very close at all levels with bilateral trade cooperation advancing smoothly. It is an unswerving policy of the Chinese government to develop China-Pakistan friendship and China is ready to join hands with Pakistan to continue enhancing pragmatic cooperation in all areas, continuously tap the potential of cooperation and increase communication and coordination in international affairs so as to push bilateral strategic cooperative partnership to a new level.

Qureshi hailed the good Pakistan-China relations, adding that the traditional friendship between both sides is deeply rooted in the hearts of the two peoples. The Pakistani government and people deem China the most reliable friend and cooperative partner. The two countries have always treated each other with sincerity and shown mutual understanding and support to each other. Pakistan firmly supports all the efforts made by China to safeguard national unity, social stability and national harmony and is ready to join hands with China to push forward bilateral strategic cooperative partnership.
