Dai Bingguo Meets with Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada

On October 9, 2009, Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo met with Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada in Zhongnanhai. Dai called on the two sides to cherish the current hard-won situation in China-Japan relations. Since the new Japanese cabinet was formed, China-Japan relations have got off to a good start. Dai urged the two countries to make active efforts to promote greater progress of bilateral strategic mutually beneficial ties. Okada said Japan would work closely with China to expand win-win cooperation and enrich the connotation of bilateral strategic mutually beneficial relations. He expressed hope that the two countries will maintain friendship forever. Both sides also exchanged views on other issues of common concern.
