Yang Jiechi Holds Telephone Conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

On November 24, 2009, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi at request held a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Both sides spoke positively of the fruitful results of President Barack Obama's visit to China and agreed to make the trip a new starting point in advancing China-U.S. relations. Yang and Clinton pledged to fulfill the consensus reached by the leaders of their countries and to join hands in building a positive, cooperative and comprehensive China-U.S. relationship for the 21st century. They also agreed that China and the United States will work together with other countries to promote world peace and common development. Both sides also exchanged views on the Iranian nuclear issue and other matters.
