On January 6, 2010, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi at request held a telephone conversation with Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Miguel Angel Moratinos, exchanging views on promoting China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership during Spain’s rotating presidency of the European Union.

Both sides agreed to maintain the stable China-EU relations, continue to deepen strategic trust and implement the consensus reached at the 12th China-EU summit. They also pledged to actively expand pragmatic cooperation in all areas and coordinate more closely in coping with the international financial crisis, climate change and other global challenges.
