On August 11, 2011, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi who accompanied Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc on the visit to China and to attend the opening ceremony of the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Both sides made positive comments on the smooth development of bilateral ties since the establishment of diplomatic relations 62 years ago. They also exchanged in-depth views on how to further build up political mutual trust, enhance pragmatic cooperation on economy, trade, culture, education and tourism and advance China-Romania comprehensive friendly cooperative partnership in the new situation.
