On August 16, 2011, Chinese President Hu Jintao accepted credentials presented by new ambassadors from Sri Lanka, the Comoros, Surinam, Australia and the United States at the Great Hall of the People. The five new ambassadors are Ranjith Uyangoda from Sri Lanka, Mahmoud Mohamed Aboud from the Comoros, Lloyd Lucien Pinas from Surinam, Frances Jennifer Adamson from Australia and Gary Faye Locke from the United States. Aboud is also the first ambassador of the Comoros to China.
