Ismail Tiliwaldi Meets with Outgoing Kyrgyz President

On the afternoon of December 1, 2011, Ismail Tiliwaldi, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) and a special envoy of Chinese President Hu Jintao, met with outgoing interim president of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva in Bishkek.

Ismail Tiliwaldi first conveyed the cordial greetings and good wishes from President Hu Jintao to Otunbayeva. He said China and Kyrgyzstan are friendly neighbors of sincerity and mutual trust. The two countries will celebrate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year. China is ready to join hands with the Kyrgyz side to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by President Hu Jintao and Otunbayeva at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Astana, enhance political mutual trust and pragmatic cooperation, strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges and promote bilateral ties to a new level. The Chinese side spoke highly of Otunbayeva's positive contributions to promoting good-neighborly and friendly cooperative relations between the two countries.

Otunbayeva thanked China for sending such a high-level delegation to the presidential inauguration, saying that it indicates China's significant support to Kyrgyzstan. Otunbayeva made positive comments on bilateral relations, adding the two sides have always supported each other. The Kyrgyz side will as always develop good-neighborly and friendly relations with China, she said, pledging to strengthen cooperation in the humanities area and push forward the friendship for generations.
