On March 20, 2012, State Councilor Dai Bingguo met in Zhongnanhai with visiting Governor of the Austrian State of Salzburg Gabi Burgstaller.

Dai said that at present China-Austria relations develop healthily. President Hu Jintao's visit to Austria has lifted the bilateral relations to a new level. China attaches great importance to developing the friendly exchanges and cooperation with Austria and expects to work with Austria to further expand the pragmatic cooperation and realize mutual benefit. Salzburg has been playing an important and unique role in the development of China-Austria relations. He hopes the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Salzburg achieves more results in the future. He also introduced to the guest China's economic and social development.

Burgstaller said that Salzburg enjoys sound cooperation with China. Salzburg has established friendly relations with Heilongjiang and Hainan provinces and expects to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation on business, culture and tourism.
