The Sixth Summit Meeting of the "Shanghai Five" will be held in Shanghai

At the invitation of President Jiang Zemin of the People's Republic of China, President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation, President Nursultan Nazarbayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President Askar Akayev of the Kyrghyz Republic, President Emomali Rahmonov of the Republic of Tadzhikistan and President Islam Karimov of the Republic of Uzbekistan will attend the Sixth Summit Meeting of the "Shanghai Five" in Shanghai, China, from June 14th to 15th. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the founding of the "Shanghai Five". This summit meeting will be of great significance in helping the "Shanghai Five" enter a new phase. During the meeting, heads of state of the countries will have a comprehensive and in-depth exchange of views on the building and development of the "Shanghai Five" mechanism and current major international issues and will sign a series of important documents. President Jiang Zemin will also hold bilateral meetings with the heads of states of other "Shanghai Five" countries.
