Ambassador Qin Jian met with Somali Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Ahmed Guled

On August 20th 2017, Ambassador Qin Jian met with Somali Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Ahmed Guled.

Mr. Guled reviewed the development of friendly relations between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations, thanked the long-term political support and economic assistance by the Chinese government and people, said Somalia and China are "real friends", the relationship between the two countries is solid and deep. Somalia has been adhering to the one-China principle and supporting the great cause of peaceful reunification of China, and opposing all attempts to separate China. At present, the political and social situation in Somalia is becoming more stable, hope China could play an active role in the Somali peace process and national reconstruction.

Ambassador Qin said China has long been concerning and supporting the Somalia development and is pleased to see the positive progress in the reconstruction and peace process in Somalia. The Reform and Opening up policy has been implemented for nearly 40 years, China has made tremendous achievements, the Chinese side is willing to share development experience with Somalia and continues to support the process of peace and reconstruction in Somalia, sincerely wishes Somalia can make new achievements in the path of peace, stability and revitalization.
