Ambassador Yang Youming Attends the Breakfast Meeting for Launching the Report on "China-Africa Trade and Investment Developments and Impacts: Case of China-Zambia Relations"

On 7th September, H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia attended the breakfast meeting for launching the report on "China-Africa Trade and Investment Developments and Impacts: Case of China-Zambia Relations", jointly held by the Ministry of National Development and Planning of Zambia and the Zambia Institute of Policy Analysis and Research (ZIPAR). Hon. Lucky Mulusa, Minister of National Development and Planning, Hon. Ronald Chitotela, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development, Mr. Roland Msiska, Secretary to the Cabinet and Mr. Ceasar Cheelo, Chief Researcher of ZIPAR attended the meeting.

Ambassador Yang said in his remarks that this report comprehensively reviewed the development of China-Africa and China-Zambia economic and trade relations through a large amount of data and revealed that the rapid development of trade between China and Zambia has created a good environment to attract foreign investment, and the direct investment from China has promoted the economic development of Zambia. It also offers proposals to African countries on adapting to the needs of development in the areas of reform, and provides an important reference for further development of the China-Africa friendly cooperation. Ambassador Yang stressed that China and Zambia, China and Africa are natural friends, tested brothers and irreplaceable cooperation partners. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen cooperation with Zambia, share its successful experience to achieve mutual beneficial and win-win cooperation and promote common development.

Hon. Lucky Mulusa, Hon. Ronald Chitotela, Mr. Roland Msiska, and Mr. Ceasar Cheelo, by sharing their experience learned from China and the contents of the report respectively, spoke highly of China's development achievements and called for following China's successful experience and further enhancing the friendly and cooperative relations with China through the FOCAC and other mechanisms, in order to promote social-economic development of Zambia.

The report on "China-Africa Trade and Investment Developments and Impacts: Case of China-Zambia Relations", sponsored by China-Africa Joint Research and Exchange Program and conducted by ZIPAR, is one of the important research achievements of China-Africa cultural exchanges under the framework of the FOCAC.
