Consul General Pan Xinchun meets North Ayrshire Provost Ian Clarkson

Chinese Consul General Pan Xinchun met Councillor Ian Clarkson, Provost of North Ayrshire at the Consulate General on 2 November at the Consulate General, with an in-depth exchange of views on deepening cooperation between China and North Ayrshire.

Consul General Pan briefed the Provost on trade and investment cooperation between China and Scotland, saying China has become Scotland's top five trade partner with huge potential for future cooperation, providing good opportunities for North Ayrshire to strengthen its cooperation with China. With superior geographical location and beautiful environment, North Ayrshire has forged links with its Chinese counterparts in fields of trade, culture, education, sports, etc. He hoped that North Ayrshire will build on existing achievements to further promote practical cooperation with China.

Provost Ian Clarkson extended his thanks to the Consul General for the long time support in developing relations between the two sides and briefed him on the development of North Ayrshire. He said North Ayrshire council has officially been crowned the UK's best local authority, further increasing its investment attraction. He wished to improve North Ayrshire's investing environment and facilitate the development of business as well as tap potentials for cooperation in energy, technology, food and drink, saying Chinese investors will be very welcome to North Ayrshire.
