2018/05/25

On Wednesday, 23rd May, H.E. Dr. Yue Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, had a meeting in the Civic Building with Mr. Owen Keegan, Chief Executive of Dublin City Council.

Exchanging views with Mr. Keegan on the sister-city relationship between Beijing and Dublin, the Chinese Ambassador expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the heartwarming hospitality that Lord Mayor Mícheál Mac Donncha and senior officials of the Dublin City Council accorded to a high-level delegation led by H.E. Mr. Cai Qi, Member of the Political Bureau of the 19th CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Beijing CPC Municipal Committee, in early May.

Mr. Keegan and Ambassador Yue agreed to stay in close contact in the months ahead and work together to make the 7-year-old twinning relationship between the Irish and Chinese capitals more dynamic and more fruitful by jointly exploring ways to enhance mutual understanding and business links. They also had a discussion about the Chinese Culture Centre to be set up in Dublin.
