Chen Xiaodong meets with Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane of South Africa

On August 22, 2017, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong held the 9th China-South Africa strategic dialogue with Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Nomaindiya Mfeketo of South Africa in Pretoria, South Africa, exchanging in-depth views on bilateral relations, China-Africa cooperation and international and regional issues of common concern.

Both sides believed that China-South Africa relations are now at the best period in history. Both sides should take the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-South Africa diplomatic relations next year as an opportunity to speed up the implementation of the important consensus of the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and enable China-South Africa cooperation to yield more fruits, so as to continue to benefit the two peoples. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and cooperation within the BRICS framework and support each other to well host the series meetings of BRICS this year and next year as the presidency.

On August 21, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong met with Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane of South Africa.
