Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong Attends Reception Marking the 60th Anniversary of Establishment of China-Sri Lanka Diplomatic Relations and the 65th Anniversary of Signing of Agreement on Rice for Rubber

On October 31, 2017, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong and visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilak Marapana of Sri Lanka jointly attended the reception held by Sri Lankan Embassy in China, marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-Sri Lanka diplomatic relations and the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement on Rice for Rubber.

Speaking positively of the development achievements in bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations, both sides expressed the willingness to take the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to consolidate traditional friendship, comprehensively deepen practical cooperation in such areas as politics, economy, trade and people-to-people and cultural engagement under the "Belt and Road" framework, and jointly push forward China-Sri Lanka strategic cooperative partnership featuring sincerity, mutual assistance and long-lasting friendship for constant development.
