Assistant Foreign Minister Qian Hongshan Leads Delegation to Attend 7th Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption

On November 6, 2017, the 7th Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations (UN) Convention against Corruption was convened in Vienna. Assistant Foreign Minister Qian Hongshan led a Chinese delegation to attend the conference. Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Shi Zhongjun was present.

Qian Hongshan delivered a speech at the general debate, mainly introducing the outcomes of Party conduct and government integrity in China, and the new requirements to anti-corruption put forward at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He stressed that the Chinese government attaches high importance to the work against corruption as well as to the role and function of the convention. Qian Hongshan also expounded China's stance and proposition on forging an international anti-corruption system featuring wide consultation, joint construction and shared benefits and on further strengthening international cooperation in anti-corruption.

During the meeting, Qian Hongshan met with Executive Director of UN Office on Drugs and Crime Yury Fedotov, during which he briefed on relevant situation of the 19th CPC National Congress and China's achievements and experience in anti-corruption, and exchanged views on conducting international cooperation in anti-corruption and other topics.
