Director-General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Yi Xianliang Holds Talks with Deputy Head of National Border Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Phan Xuan Dung of Vietnam

On August 29, 2018, Director-General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Yi Xianliang held talks in Hanoi of Vietnam with Deputy Head of National Border Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Phan Xuan Dung of Vietnam.

The two sides exchanged in-depth views on China-Vietnam maritime issues and land border cooperation in the spirit of sincerity, friendship and practicability. The two sides believed that maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea is of great significance to the development of China-Vietnam relations and agreed to earnestly implement the high-level consensus between the two countries, properly control maritime differences, promote practical maritime cooperation, and create a sound atmosphere for the healthy and stable development of China-Vietnam relations. Both sides also spoke highly of the fruitful results from the land border cooperation between the two countries and agreed to continue to strengthen communication and promote cooperation so as to inject momentum into the development of bilateral relations.

After the meeting, Yi Xianliang and his delegation paid courtesy calls on Deputy Foreign Minister Lê Hoài Trung and Assistant Minister and Director-General of the Department of Northeast Asian Affairs Pham Sao Mai of Vietnam respectively.
