Special Representative of Chinese Government on African Affairs Xu Jinghu Visits South Africa

On March 11, 2017, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Xu Jinghu, who was visiting South Africa upon invitation, met with Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane of South Africa, exchanging views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

Special Representative Xu Jinghu said that in recent years, under the care and promotion of leaders of both countries as well as joint efforts of both sides, China-South Africa comprehensive strategic partnership has maintained a robust development momentum, and bilateral cooperation in various fields has been carried out vigorously. China is willing to, together with South Africa, continue to deepen bilateral political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation in all fields, enhance consultations and coordination in international and African affairs and continuously enrich the connotation of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to constantly push China-South Africa relations and China-Africa relations for new progress.

Maite Nkoana-Mashabane expressed that the comprehensive strategic partnership between South Africa and China is based on a high degree of political mutual trust and involves various fields. China is the most trustworthy strategic partner of South Africa. The country is ready to work with China to stand together through thick and thin, make progress together, and further enhance coordination and cooperation in bilateral and multilateral affairs, so as to elevate South Africa-China relations to new highs.
