State Councilor Dai Bingguo Meets with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea

On June 17, 2008, Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo met with visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and French Affairs of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea Pastor Micha Ondo Bile at the Great Hall of the People.

Dai thanked Micha for making a special trip to China to express condolences over the Wenchuan earthquake and hand over donation, saying that this move indicates the profound friendship between the two peoples. Hailing the healthy, stable and smooth growth of bilateral relations, Dai said China and Equatorial Guinea enjoy mutual trust in politics and win-win cooperation in economy and trade. The two countries have also supported each other on international affairs, he added. China values the relations with Equatorial Guinea, and is ready to make concerted efforts with Equatorial Guinea to increase cooperation in various fields and raise bilateral friendly cooperative ties to a new level, said Dai.

Micha said the two countries share a sincere, friendly relationship with fruitful cooperation in all areas. The Equatorial Guinean government and people were in deep sorrow after the May 12 earthquake hit China's Sichuan province. Micha extended sympathy to the Chinese people, saying the Equatorial Guinean government was ready to offer help within its capacity. Micha said the Equatorial Guinean government and people always regard China as their best friend, and will work with China to promote bilateral relations. He also spoke highly of China's relief work. Micha expressed his appreciation of China's preparations for the Olympic Games, and wished the Beijing Olympics a great success.
