Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Hailong Meets with Delegation of Hong Kong SAR Government Officials

On January 18, 2012, Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Hailong met with the delegation of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government officials led by Permanent Secretary of the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau Joshua Law Chi-kong.

Wu said that Hong Kong-related diplomacy is an important part of the Chinese diplomacy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) will spare no efforts to do all the things which are good for Hong Kong's prosperity and stability. The MFA will continue to actively support Hong Kong's external exchanges, protect the legitimate rights and interests of Hong Kong compatriots abroad and provide quality services for the HKSAR and the Hong Kong compatriots. Law Chi-kong thanked the MFA and the Office of the Commissioner of the MFA in the HKSAR for supporting the HKSAR to consolidate its position as an international metropolis and providing consular protection for Hong Kong residents. He said that the HKSAR government will step up communication and cooperation with the MFA.
