On May 10, 2019, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Cui Aimin and Director-General of Consular and Legal Department Azizov Bobur Bakhtiyorovich of Uzbekistan held the second round of China-Uzbekistan consular consultation in Tashkent. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on safeguarding the security and legitimate rights and interests of citizens, facilitating personnel exchanges and other topics, and reached consensus on various aspects.

After the consultation, Director-General Cui Aimin met with Advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs Khidaykhodjaev Jahongir Isamutdinovich of Uzbekistan, and exchanged views and opinions on deepening bilateral consular cooperation and promoting bilateral relations. Both sides initialed an agreement on facilitating visa procedures for business people of the two countries.
