On May 14, 2019, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Cui Aimin and Director-General of the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tauboldy Umbetbayev of Kazakhstan held the 18th round of China-Kazakhstan consular consultation in Almaty. In line with the friendly and candid spirit, the two sides reviewed personnel exchanges between the two countries in recent years, and exchanged in-depth views and opinions on safeguarding the security and legitimate rights and interests of respective citizens, improving the facilitation of personnel exchanges and other topics, reaching consensus on actively solving relevant issues. The two sides believed that the enhancement of personnel exchanges and cooperation between the two countries is of great significance for promoting bilateral relations and boosting practical cooperation in various fields, especially in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative.
