On December 5, 2023, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Ma Xinmin and Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government Cheong Weng Chon held the annual consultation on Macao-related treaty and law work in Macao SAR. The two sides took stock of the overall situation and latest progress of the recent work on Macao-related diplomatic treaty and law work, and had an in-depth exchange of views on the preparations for foreign-related legal activities for the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, the signing of bilateral agreements with foreign countries by the Macao SAR, the training of foreign-related legal talents, and the adaptation and implementation of multilateral conventions to Macao, among others.

On December 6, Director-General Ma Xinmin, upon invitation, gave a lecture on "Current International Situation and the Hotspot Work of Diplomatic Treaty and Law" for civil servants of the Macao SAR Government and the legal community, and interacted with the audience on issues related to international law.
