In 2013, the relationship between the People's Republic of China and the Principality of Liechtenstein made good progress.
In March, Premier Li Keqiang sent a letter of congratulations to Adrian Hasler on taking office as the Prime Minister of Liechtenstein. NPC Chairman Zhang Dejiang sent a letter of congratulations to Albert Frick on his election as the President of Parliament. Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein Alois Philipp Maria sent a letter of congratulations to President Xi Jinping on his election. In November, President Xi sent a letter of congratulations on the opening of the exhibition "Masterpieces from the Collections of the Prince of Liechtenstein" at the National Museum of China. Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with Prince Alois Philipp Maria who came to China for the opening of the exhibition, and exchanged views with him on the bilateral relations. Culture Minister Cai Wu and Vice Foreign Minister Song Tao had meetings with Prince Alois Philipp Maria and Dr. Aurelia Frick, Minister of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Culture, respectively.
