Xi Jinping Sends Message of Condolences to King Felipe VI of Spain over the Van Rampage Terror Attack in Barcelona of Spain

On August 18, 2017, President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolences to King Felipe VI of Spain over the van rampage terror attack occurred in the center of Barcelona of Spain.

In the message, Xi Jinping expressed that I was shocked to learn about the terror attack of a van ramming into crowds in Barcelona of Spain on the afternoon of August 17 that has caused heavy casualties. On behalf of the Chinese government and people and in my own name, I expressed profound condolences to the victims, extended heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families and the injured, and hoped for rapid recovery of the injured. China is firmly opposed to all forms of terrorism and stands ready to work with the international community, including Spain, to strengthen anti-terror cooperation, so as to jointly safeguard regional and world peace and stability.
