Main Functions: The Department of Policy Planning studies and analyzes issues of overall and strategic importance related to global situation and international relations. It formulates policies and plans for diplomatic work, drafts and submits important diplomatic documents and speeches, conducts foreign policy pronouncements, and coordinates research and analytical work. It also undertakes the work related to the studies of the diplomatic history of the People's Republic of China.
