China and EU Hold the Third Assessment Meeting on China-EU 2020 Strategic Agenda for Cooperation

On March 21, 2018, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Chen Xu and Managing Director for Asia and Pacific of the European External Action Service Gunnar Wiegand co-chaired the third assessment meeting on China-EU 2020 Strategic Agenda for Cooperation in Beijing. Related departments including the Office of the Central Leading Group for Cyberspace Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, the General Administration of Customs, the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council, the State Oceanic Administration and the EU Delegation to China were present.

The two sides comprehensively reviewed the cooperation progress in the four major areas under the framework of the Agenda and defined the key areas of exchanges and cooperation in the next stage. Both sides expressed that they will make joint efforts to well prepare for the 20th China-EU Summit.
