President Hu Jintao Appoints New Ambassadors

Chinese President Hu Jintao announced the appointment of five new ambassadors to foreign countries in accordance with a decision made by the National People's Congress Standing Committee.

Zhao Jun was appointed ambassador to Norway, replacing Tang Guoqiang.

Guan Jian was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Congo (ROC), replacing Li Shuli.

Sun Jiwen was appointed ambassador to Gabon, replacing Li Fushun.

Xu Hong was appointed ambassador to Barbados, replacing Wei Qiang.

Yang Wanming was appointed ambassador to Chile, replacing Lv Fan.
