Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Gong Xiaosheng Visits Palestine

Special Envoy Gong Xiaosheng meets with Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah

On November 2, 2017, Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah of Palestine met at the Prime Minister's Office in Ramallah with Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Gong Xiaosheng. Both sides exchanged views on the latest development of situation in the Middle East and China-Palestine relations. H.E. Chen Xingzhong, Director of Chinese Office in Palestine attended the meeting. During the visit, Special Envoy Gong Xiaosheng also met respectively with Deputy Prime Minister Ziad Abu Amr, Minister of Foreign Affairs Riad Al-Malki, Secretary-General of Presidential Office Tayeb Abdul Rahim, Advisor to President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations Nabil Shaath, Advisor to President on Diplomatic Affairs Majdi al-Khalidi, Member of the Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee and Secretary General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front Ahmad Majdalani, members of the Central Committee of Fatah Mohammad Ishtayeh and Mohammad Madani and other officials from Palestine.

During the visit, Special Envoy Gong Xiaosheng also mainly introduced the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Palestine highly appraised the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress, thanked China for providing assistance to Palestine for a long time, and supported China to play a greater role in the Middle East peace progress.
