Wang Qishan Meets with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore

On April 9, 2018, Vice President Wang Qishan met at Zhongnanhai with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore.

Wang Qishan expressed that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era will guide China in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and heading for the second centenary goal. In the process of moving toward modernization, China should foster strong confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, broaden horizons and stay focused. The most important thing is to have a clear understanding of the trend. The building of a community with a shared future for mankind is an inevitable trend in the development of history. China cannot develop itself without the rest of the world, and the development of the world also needs China. The concept of opening up in the new era has rich connotations. China will unswervingly expand opening up at a higher level. China-Singapore relations are of strategic and forward-looking significance and bilateral cooperation enjoys mutual benefit and win-win results. China is willing to, together with Singapore, learn from each other to promote all-round development of bilateral relations.

Lee Hsien Loong expressed that Singapore-China relations enjoy sound development. The Singaporean side is glad to see that China plays a positive role in the building of global governance system, and stands ready to strengthen the docking of strategies and deepen practical cooperation in various fields with China.
