On April 29, 2014, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek of the Czech Republic at Zhongnanhai.
Yang Jiechi said that China values China-Czech relations. The bilateral relations have now turned to a brand new chapter. Hope that both sides will respect each other and take care of the core interests and major concerns of each other, keep enhancing political mutual trust, strengthen high-level exchanges, expand practical cooperation in economy, trade and other fields, and intensify people-to-people, non-governmental and local exchanges, so as to open up a bright prospect for bilateral relations.
Lubomír Zaorálek said that the new government of the Czech Republic will be committed to the promotion of Czech-China relations. It is willing to give full play to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two countries, to enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields with China and to ensure the healthy and steady development of the bilateral relations.
