Xi Jinping Meets Again with President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj of Mongolia

On August 22, 2014, President Xi Jinping met again with President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj of Mongolia.

At noon, Xi Jinping and his wife Mme. Peng Liyuan arrived at the presidential palace in the outskirts of Ulan Bator, and were warmly greeted by President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and his wife. In a close and friendly atmosphere, the two heads of state further exchanged views on the development of China-Mongolia relations and major issues of common concern.

Xi Jinping pointed out, although my visit this time does not last long, I feel a sense of familiarity like visiting relatives and friends. The Mongolian side has offered us considerate arrangement and warm reception, making us feel the profound friendship of the Mongolian people. We both agreed to upgrade the bilateral relationship to comprehensive strategic partnership, and reached extensive and important agreements and consensuses on cooperation in various fields. The visit has made rich achievements, with which I am satisfied. I would like to keep close communication and coordination with you to well implement consensuses reached by both sides, to make the bilateral cooperation projects yield early achievements, and to jointly push for continuous and stable development of bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.

Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj stated that this visit paid by President Xi Jinping has achieved important results and is truly a historic visit. They have had good and thorough talks. He feels close being with President Xi Jinping and the time they spent together leaves a nice and deep impression on him. He cherishes the brotherhood between them and is willing to make joint efforts with President Xi Jinping to deepen the bilateral cooperation so as to make the Mongolia-China comprehensive strategic partnership bring more benefits to both peoples.
