On October 3, 2015, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with President Tony Tan Keng Yam of Singapore to warmly celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relationship.

Xi Jinping expressed in the message that China and Singapore are close and friendly neighbors. Since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relationship 25 years ago, both countries have been deepening their relations, yielding fruitful results in cooperation in various sectors and maintaining sound communication and cooperation in international and regional affairs. I highly value the development of China-Singapore relations and stand ready to, together with you, further deepen political mutual trust and make more new achievements in practical cooperation so as to elevate the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries to a higher level.

Tony Tan Keng Yam noted in the message that Singapore-China relations are developing continuously since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relationship 25 years ago, and the friendship between the two peoples is becoming increasingly close. He looks forward to, together with President Xi Jinping, further deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation on the basis of solid bilateral relations to better benefit the two peoples.
