In his address at the opening ceremony of the Ministerial Conference, Premier Wen Jiabao put forward a four-point proposal on how to further China-Africa friendship and cooperation:

Continue to move forward the traditional China-Africa friendship through mutual support;

Promote democratization of international relations through intensified consultation;

Jointly meet the challenges of globalization through coordination of positions;

Turn a new chapter in China-Africa friendly relations through enhanced cooperation.
