Sichuang TV Festival Delegation Visits Mauritius

Chinaculture.org – At the invitation of the Mauritius Chinese Cultural Center, a four-member Sichuang TV festival delegation headed by Director-General He Daxin of the Sichuang Provincial Department on Radio, Film and TV visited Mauritius from August 20th to 23rd, 2009.

 

On the morning of the 21st, the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Director-General Dhanjay Callikan met with the delegation, and the Chinese political counsellor Wang Wenbing was present. Callikan said that he is very happy to have this opportunity to meet with his Chinese counterparts, and gave the delegation a briefing about the history and current state of the MBC. Director-General He Daxin expressed gratitude, hoping that the Sichuan TV can expand its cooperation with the MBC to explore more opportunities. He also gave a detailed introduction about the main activities of the Sichuan TV Festival, including the selection of international documentaries for "Golden Panda" award, "Golden Panda" award international animation digital exhibition, international film festival, and international thematic day, and invited MBC friends to participate in these activities. Callikan said that the MBC will provide a short documentary about dodo and participate in the competition for "Golden Panda" international documentary award. It will also make a documentary about Chinese Mauritians and give it to the Sichuan TV for free.

 

The Sichuan TV Festival is a comprehensive large-scale international activity of cultural exchanges organized by the State Administration for Radio, Film and TV and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Department for Radio, Film and TV and Sichuan Radio, Film and TV Group.

 

On the morning of the 21st, the delegation also visited the Chinese Cultural Center in Mauritius to learn about the feasibility of showing excellent Chinese documentaries there. In the evening, the Chinese Ambassador to Mauritius Bian Yanhua met with and hosted a banquet for the delegation.
